Leaping Dog Press and Asylum Arts Press publish accessible, edgy, witty, and challenging contemporary poetry, fiction, and works in translation, with Asylum Arts Press having an additional focus on surrealism and the avant garde.

LDP / Asylum Arts Press Submission Guidelines
Please note: LDP does not publish genre fiction (mystery, suspense, romance, sci fi), self help, dog books, etc. Fully 75% of the books submitted to us are simply the wrong kind of book for us.

Please bear in mind that we are a small press that publishes only 4-6 titles a year. Additionally, we are currently under contract for titles through calendar year 2011, so the soonest newly accepted titles could appear is 2012.

If you are interested in submitting work to Leaping Dog Press or Asylum Arts Press, query by snail mail with the following:

• A cover letter, mentioning your reason(s) for considering LDP or AA and your ideas for marketing your title.
• A proposed table of contents.
• A bio or CV, and a list of publications.
• Two chapters or 20 pages of fiction, or 6 poems or (no more than 12 pages) of poetry

LDP does not accept electronic submissions or queries. All submissions or queries must be on paper, and must be accompanied by an SASE.
